Anxiety & Stress

Chronic stress and anxiety can disrupt sleep, relationships, and daily functioning. Treatment focuses on identifying triggers, regulating the nervous system, and developing practical coping strategies to restore balance and emotional stability.

What is Anxiety & Chronic Stress?

Chronic stress is the physiological “wear and tear” caused by persistent external pressures that keep your body’s survival system stuck in high gear, whereas anxiety is the internal, lingering sense of dread or apprehension that often persists even after those external pressures have vanished.

While chronic stress is a reaction to your current reality, anxiety is a reaction to a perceived or future threat. Because both rely on the same “fight-or-flight” biological machinery, long-term stress often recalibrates the nervous system to a state of constant anxiety.
